'Save Our Sharks' Children Painting Competition 2007    PRELIM ROUND FINALISTS

Thank you all participants for submitting your drawings - you are all excellent - we will send you your certificate for participation soon.  We have selected the finalists  - see the Winners and Paintings Gallery

 

Finalists will be awarded the Celebrate the Sea Award Certificate - this will be posted to you. Your Artwork will be displayed in a special gallery at the festival

 

A Limited Edition Print - The Reef Ensemble - value US$100 - Poster will be given out to you at the festival premier round. They cannot be mailed.

 

One of the finalist will be named ‘Ambassador for Sharks’ on 22 Sep; we invite all finalist to come to the Coconut Palace at 11:00 hrs, 22 September 2007 to compete in the PREMIER Round. You will have two hours to paint in this round - the Grand Prize for the PREMIER round, the overall winner will be named Celebrate the Sea Artist of the Sea 2007 and will receive a special medal, $500 in books and A$500 to be used as an educational fund.

Finalists from outside the Philippines we will be delighted if you can join us for the premier round - we maybe able to provide transfer and hotel assistance in Manila. If you have not received our notification, please contact us at cts@oneocean.com   Congratulation to all.  The CTS Team

How to Enter

Terms & Conditions of Entry:

 

 

The 2007 Children’s Painting Competition is part of OceanNEnvironment’s public awareness campaign to promote conservation of sharks and the beauty of our seas.  This competition promotes the artistic talents of children in countries of the Asia-Pacific encouraging them to show us their perspective of conservation and the ocean environment through their works of art. The competition is open to children and young people from the Asia-Pacific countries.

Our vision is for children’s paintings in the Celebrate the Sea competition to send a simple but powerful message: children from the Asia Pacific are joining hands to help protect sharks and they are enjoying the beauty of our seas. We look forward to seeing their raw talent, ingenuity and imagination and their contribution to solving the problems our ocean world.

This competition is part of OceanNEnvironment’s public awareness campaign for the conservation of sharks and encourages children to show us their fresh perspectives on conservation.  The great thing about this competition is that everyone goes home a winner;

If you are between five and fifteen you have until 15 August 2008 to enter the ‘Celebrate the Sea’ children’s painting competition.  All you have to do is draw or paint a piece of art, on an A4 sheet of paper using the theme ‘Say No to Shark Fins’ and enter your painting into the Prelim Round.  

The top fifty finalists from the PRELIM ROUND will be invited to participate in the premier round on 22th  Sep 2007 in Manila, Philippines.

The winner of the PRELIM round will be named ‘Ambassador for Sharks’ and their artwork will be turned into a special edition poster to promote the conservation of sharks in South East Asia.

The Grand Prize for the PREMIER round , the overall winner will be named Children’s Artist of the Sea 2007 and will receive a trophy, S$500 in books and A$500 to be used as an educational fund.

Last year a girl came all the way from a small town in India to win first prize. When she returned home, the media were there to greet her – just think, that could be you! The theme for the final round is: WOW The Reefs of Asia"

HOW TO ENTER THE PRELIM ROUND ……

 

Closing Date: 18 Aug 2007

ENTRIES must reach us by 19 Aug

 

 1) Do a painting or a drawing using the theme – ‘Say No to Shark Fins’

 

2)Painting must be A4 (297mm x 210mm)

 

3) Send your entry by post to:  CTS Children’s Painting Competition

4) Please include the following details in your submission: Name of participant: Age: Name of Mother or Father, submitted by:

5. All entries will receive acknowledgement of receipt by email only.

 

7. Judging is on 20 Aug 2007 - The entries will be split into two age groups: Age 5 to 9 and Age 10 to 15. The entires will be judged and awarded for each age group respectively.

 

Preliminary Round Winners will be announced on 22 August by email. Check at www.celebratethesea.com

 

All 50 finalists and respective parent or guardian are invited to attend the PREMIER round at in Manila - Makati City on 22 Sep 2007; the finalists will be required to do a painting BETWEEN 11AM TO 2PM.

 

Participation in the premier round is optional, but you must register to attend the Premier Round by 10 Sep 2007 and you must be one of the 50 finalist in the Preliminary Round – email registration to cts@oneocean.com or Fax 61 2 9686 8438

 

8. PREMIER round winners will be announced during the Celebrate the Sea Awards Ceremony.

 

Terms & Conditions of Entry:


1. The prizes do not include any transport or accommodation.
2. Entrants must be between the ages of 5 to 15 years.
3. A parent or guardian must give consent by submitting all entries personally – and must be present during the Premiere round.
4. An acceptance e-mail will be sent to confirm the entry is legitimately sent by a parent / guardian.

5. Preliminary Round will be judged by associates of OceanNEnvironment and Asian Geographic. The decision will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.
6. Original artwork will not be returned.
7. There are no fees or legal obligations of any form by submitting work BUT the author shall release the organiser of all claims and indemnities. And drawings and painting shall become copyrighted property of OceanNEnvironment.
8. Competitions may be cancelled without notice by the event organisers at any stage.
