Singapore, 26 December: Ocean Geographic Society and Resorts World Sentosa call upon children to make an Inspiring New Year Resolution on 29 December - “I am the future, I will not eat Shark fins” at their new Marine Life Park
This is a definitive call upon children to inspire the public in Singapore and the communities the world over to stop the consumption of shark fins soup. This is a shout out to children of age, 7 to 15 years to attend the benchmark event at the Marine Life Park, Resorts World Sensota at 12.30pm, 29 December 2012. The unanimity of the pledge by children from the ‘hot zone’ of shark fins consumption will echo loud and clear through the region. These are children with the initiative and passion to protect sharks from extinction. “Children can change the world, they are our hope for a healthier ocean” said Michael AW, director of Ocean Geographic Society.

In conjunction with the event, the premiere round of the Celebrate the Sea Children Art competition will be stage from 9am to 12.30 pm at the Maritime Experimental Museum. 100 children from Indonesia, India, Hong Kong, Philippines and Singapore will compete in this international art competition. The mission of this annual competition now in its 11th year is for children to use their artistic talent to influence and inspire protection for our ocean environment.
To draw greater attention Ocean Geographic has convene local celebrities and luminaries to be site to celebrate and make the pledge with the children. The event is organised by Ocean Geographic Society (OGSociety.org) and Resorts World Sentosa.
